Harry's Spring Run-Off 2010
Harry’s Spring Run-Off in Vancouver started off with a high-energy stretch given by Rene Picard of Steve Nash’s Fitness World – almost all runners went through the stretches including a 3 year old who was leading the stretches with Rene...
It was great to see such a variety of ages participating in the run, from 8 year olds to grandparents, who were obviously supportive of the cause of prostate cancer wearing their blue ribbons – and many couples finishing off the run holding hands.
We had a turnout of over 1000 runners and a dozen were wearing suits and other assorted outfits, including the winner wearing a black wig, green headband and a black corduroy short suit – yes, a suit with shorts. The rain (drizzle really) started just after the run started, so it was almost perfect timing! Green baseball caps were given out to finishers – a badge of honour for this fun race.
With just over $150,000 raised for Vancouver General’s prostate cancer research, it was a ‘good’ day.
